All keyboard controls unbound

Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. I had just started the game and it was showing me the S5 trailer. Then, I had a party invite from a friend which I accepted. Right after that, the issue described below occurred.
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Waiting to land as the jump master
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? None, I gave the game a break due to connection issues (Frankfurt)
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 05.16.20 16:00 GMT+2
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? All the keybindings get wiped. Not reset to defaults but wiped, resulting in the player being unable to do anything but look around using the mouse. The Escape button worked fine. The chat, however, was responsive (after I rebound it from Enter to LMB) in the settings to communicate to my teammate.
What should be happening instead? The keybindings should be kept as they were.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? A probable way to recreate the bug would be to - 1. Start the game 2. Watch the trailer 3. Get an Origin party invite 4. Accept it 5. Join duos 6. Have fun figuring out why you can't do anything

All the control key bindings are wiped, except for the Escape key, which allowed me to reset them to defaults after restarting the game and still seeing the issue. Thanks for the ability to get back into the game after Alt+F4, by the way.

    I also had this problem everything would work perfectly fine until I got past the character select screen I could coms with team mates and everything but after that nothing was possible

    @agentgalaxy Did a restart help?

    If not, please close the game, you go to C:\users\yourusername\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local, then delete the settings.cfg file. Start the game and it should create a new file with default settings.

    hello, do you know how to do this without relaunching the game? launching apex crashes my whole computer around 19/20 times and i just spend over an hour launching the game and restarting my pc and just ran into this problem

    do you think it's possible to just send the default settings.cfg here?

    edit: nvm i just found the restore defaults button in the settings page, but also it seems like everyone's controls being unbound randomly has been an issue for 4+ years, is it being fixed anytime soon?
