Apex Legends Crash while taking Teammate's Banner

Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Happens in all areas of the map, maybe more noticeably the centre.
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Picking up my teammates banner/ looting deathbox

How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? When I take my teammates banners from their death box, the game freezes and then crashes to the desktop after about 2 seconds time. It has also happened to me while looting death boxes but is much less common. Happens almost 50% of the time when taking a teammates banner. There is no error box when this crash happens.Also game runs perfectly fine any other time.
What should be happening instead? I should go on and win the game with a full squad (obviously lol)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? None of my friends are having this issue so I don't know how it could be replicated.

This issue has been happening persistently for the past 2 weeks or so. really irritating when you get taken out of a game late on due to it crashing like this. I have verified the game files, updated Nvidea drivers, and dialed back the settings, to no avail.

    This has happened to me twice today and it was picking up random team mates banners, it make me not want to bother taking the risk if it now crashes my game.

    My squad has been running into this issue constantly about since the patch the Havoc was introduced. Before then, the game was incredibly stable and we almost never crashed. 

    The crashes often happen after you've won a fight, as that's when you're interacting with the most deathboxes. That means when you're at your best is when you're most likely to be arbitrarily kicked from the game. The heartbreak of it ends play sessions with my friends every time.

    I miss long play sessions uninterrupted by random crashing. This game is so amazing when it works... just makes it hurt all the more when it doesn't.

    More often than not, it seems to happen with the first deathbox you interact with after a fight. It might have something to do with how fresh the deathbox is, or some kind of condition being activated during the fight that makes it so the next deathbox you open crashes you. Maybe some kind of desync with regards to the state of the deathbox you're opening.
