Apex Legends freezes then crashes to desktop when using Discord

I have noticed that when using Discord to find new ppl to play with or chat with my friends while playing, Apex will crash every other game or so. I know it is Discord causing the issue as I made sure to turn off every other program while running both apps, including any overlays from Steam, EA/Origin, or Nvidia. I have also adjusted in-game settings down and turned off Nvidia Reflex Boost. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a pretty good rig (R7 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3080 10GB) with everything on either M.2 or SATA SSDs, so hardware isn't an issue. I really prefer using Discord over in game comms due to clarity and ability to still talk while tabbed out of game. This occurs whether I am playing through Steam or EA/Origin app.
