What happens when the bug occurs? I attempt to launch the game from the Origin Client. The logo shows up with the battle eye loading, and then when it closes, an error pop-up occurs stating "We've noticed your computer is currently offline. To activate your game on this computer using your EA Account, you'll need to connect to the internet."
What should be happening instead? The game should work.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure.

Every time I attempt to launch Apex Legends the main logo with the battle-eye load up shows up, it closes out, and i get an error pop up with the message saying "We've noticed your computer is currently offline. To activate your game on this computer using your EA Account, you'll need to connect to the internet." I received this issue WAY back in  September when I attempted to play the Battlefield 5 Beta and spent a ton of time talking to EA Support chat and Advisers to no avail. I have now spent a lot of time doing the same thing for Apex Legends.

Before you ask, here is a list of things I have done to "Troubleshoot" my game:

-Ran Origin and Apex Legends as Administrator

-Uninstalled/Reinstalled both Origin and Apex Legends.

-Cleaned the Origin Cache

-Clean Booted my PC.

-Allowed Apex Legends and Origin through my firewall

-Uninstalled programs that conflicted with Origin

-Installed MalwareBytes and CCleaner as suggested by a EA Adviser. Ran and got rid of viruses, and cleaned up junk files on my PC.

-Flushed the DNS Cache

-Went to my system settings and in the Virtual Memory settings, I ticked the option for Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.

-Logged in to another Origin account, downloaded Apex Legends and ran it.

Recently, I was told to make a new admin account on my PC, restart my computer and run it that way. While trying to log in to the account on my PC, I received a message saying " You must be online the first time to complete your account setup", so I can't even attempt to try this fix.

After multiple more support chats, and at this point, a total of 3 hours (just today) no fix was concluded. I was told to run a UOTrace(Logs attatched) and provide the results. After providing these results, I was told it may be a connection problem, and to contact the ISP that provides internet to my schools dorms so they can open the ports to allow me to connect. After a brief contact to my schools ISP (Resnet) , they told me that all ports are opened, and none are blocked, and that this is an issue with Origin, and that they could do nothing about it on their end.

I am currently away at school and using my Lenovo Legion Y520 Laptop. I'm using an Ethernet cable in my dorm and am very well able to play online games through steam with no problem whatsoever.

PC Specs:

Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU;

16GB of RAM;

2TB, 5,400-rpm HDD;

256GB PCIe SSD;

Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB of VRAM

This is a bit frustrating as I'm not able to play the game, and none of the advisers or the experts have been able to provide a solution that allows me to actually launch the game at all. Attached below are the error pop-up, the UOTrace results, and my dxdiag.

  • UPDATE: After still talking to Origin/EA Advisers nothing has been resolved. I have also taken these extra steps as given to me by one of the experts. I have already followed these steps previously but I will list them because I have already left them out.

    -Make sure you have the latest version of Origin installed.

    -Check for any significant Windows 10 updates

    -Review the Time / Date on your PC and make sure it matches the region you are playing from.

    -Reset Internet Explorer settings:

    -In Internet Explorer Untick Proxy server in LAN settings

    -Reset Windows Host files:

  • Im also still waiting for help i did everything that was said to me and didnt work so i decided to make a fresh windows 10 install on my computer ONLY install origin and apex also any other driver and windows update, turn of firewall and guess what still not working!
  • I had this error as well. I downloaded a free vpn, protonvpn, connected to it and launched the game. The game loaded up fine. I then closed the game, disconnected from the vpn, and launched the game again on my normal network and the game has worked fine ever since.

  • I did everything you did, I even went as far as to format my pc since it was fairly new and I wouldnt lose much. Still, didnt work. Spent my whole sunday trying to fix the problem went through forums and experts and nothing came from it. Really frustrating

  • I tried this but it didnt work, do you just connect to the vpn and launch afterwards? Or am I missing a step

    That's all just connect to the VPN and launch origin.
