apex not recognizing 32:9 screen

Product: Apex Legends
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC
Enter RAM memory size in GB 32 GB
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? boblack_zocker
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? Loading into the match from the lobby
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Lobby and ingame (does not matter)
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. setting display to 16:9 (this works then)
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? general problem
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 12.10.2024 12:00
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? the whole picture is streched
What should be happening instead? on the right and left there should be black bars so the image is 21:9 and not 32:9
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? get ur hands on a screen that is 32:9. the problem is that the game detects that my resolution on my screen is 7680 x 2160 (32:9) but the game thinks its a 21:9 screen which makes no sense. so the game gets confused. when i use 21:9 the pixels settings that i can make are still 32:9 pixel settings. but this has to be 21:9 then so in my case 5120 x 2160 and not 7680 x 2160. then i would have the black bars. with 16:9 it works fine. i think the problem is that the game thinks everything bigger then 21:9 is 21:9 but that does wierd stuff. a fix would be nice so i can play the game on 21:9 instead of 16:9

  • @boblack_zocker Can you try looking at your PC's display settings and see if there's anything you can change from there?

I'm on Windows 11 myself, and in my PC's settings, I see the options for things such as image scale and image resolution. Although, my monitor is 1920 x 1080, (16:9).

  • Hi,

I am on windows 10. There is a option to change resolution but not the scale. The scale should normally be configured from the apps. There is also no way to change it. The only way is to create a custom resolution/scale on the amd adrenalin app but to many things can go wrong there and is absolutely not recommended

@boblack_zocker Yeah, I don't recommend using AMD Adrenalin's game settings either as I've had issues with it as well.

As for the monitor, I don't have a way to test anything bigger than a 1920 x 1080, (16:9) screen. I'm also not sure if there's any other settings you could try.
