I just completed the 10 Match Placement rounds last night for Season 12, won 8 out of 10 matches, and STILL got put into Bronze IV. How does this even make sense? I'm assuming the scoring will also still be broken when I try to play actual rounds later tonight, where no matter how many kills I get or damage I do, that I'll gain an average of 12 points per win, while losing 18-30 points per loss, even when having multiple kills in that losing game. I really like Arenas, which is almost 100% where I spent the second half of Season 11, and still barely got Silver IV due to the broken scoring system.
Played mostly Ranked Arenas last night, and I can definitely say there are a LOT of high-level players showing up in my supposed Bronze IV matches... though I managed to rank up to Bronze III in one night, the scoring still seems to be pretty whacked. I guess since they didn't even mention Arenas in their release notes, I shouldn't have expected them to have fixed anything. Maybe they aren't planning on keeping it? I mainly play the ranked version, because people don't tend to quit out of that as much as pubs since they get a timeout penalty for doing so... still though, with all the AFK or Disconnected players, it makes for a challenge to win against a fully active three-player opponent. HA!
