bug regarding buying recolor skins without having the original one

What happens when the bug occurs? i was able to buy wraith's skin "DEPTHS OF THE VOID" recolor without having the original "QUARANTINE 722" skin. i thought i might get banned for it so i reported it as soon as i noticed. this happened because i usually don't check if i own the original skin of the recolors, i always click on them to see if i can buy them. yesterday when i clicked on wraith's recolor, i got an error, so i tried a few more times then i stopped and thought the shop was bugged. i opened the game today and it turns out that i bought the skin. i did not anything except buying the skin yesterday.
What should be happening instead? i should not get the recolor skin when i don't own the original one
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? my friend tried it today and it's not working anymore, so i don't think you can.
