Can't use text chat while playing PC with controller

Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Trying to access chat with enter key as I used to be able to do so.
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Anything.
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? Before the Overdrive event I believe.
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 2 days ago was when I found out and I still can't access chat.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

What happens when the bug occurs? Can't talk to teammates through text chat.
What should be happening instead? I can talk through text chat with teammates.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Step 1: Plug in a Xbox One controller to your PC. Step 2: Enter any match Step 3: Try to type.

I can't use the text chat when I am using my Xbox One controller. I was able to do so before by hitting the enter key but now there seems to be no key that'll allow me to use the text chat. There is no way for me to use the text chat unless I am dead, that is the only time I can access the text chat.
