Caustic can't drop items while holding ultimate

What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Attempting to drop a Shield Battery for teammate

What happens when the bug occurs? Not sure if a bug: unable to drop an item while holding Caustics ultimate. Tried to, but item would not drop, but I got no negative sound either.
What should be happening instead? Drop the item, or get a sound signifying that I cannot.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play Caustic, ready his ultimate, try to drop an item.

Again, not sure it's a bug, but I just wasted time trying to drop an item and could not, and I assume it was because I had Caustics ultimate 'ready.'  If it is NOT a bug, I feel like when you hit the button to drop an item, it should give you a negative tone/sound to signify that you cannot do that right now.  When I un-readied his ult, I was able to drop the item.
