Are you only noticing this happening when you yourself are the drop master?

It only occurs if someone else is jumpmaster when I break off mid-flight. I will fly normally with the jumpmaster, but when I break off I begin to lose speed.

Just to test this, have you tested this with other controllers on your Xbox to see if that has any effect at all?
