What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? EzElliott
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. It occurs everyone seemingly. But water and boxes seem to cause it the most
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Everything? Once it starts it shows up on all the menus'. Its fine for the first 10-15 min but then these crazy lines show up.
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 1
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Just playing the game normally. Then crazy bright lights appear on some objects. Then the screen starts to tear. Then the tears persist through all the menues
What should be happening instead? Ideally crazy lights on boxs and other objects won't appear and I wont get crazy tears on objects and in the main menue.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Run an MSI RX580 on windows and I'm sure you will have the issue. I have been through a couple of monitors and still having the same issue. Games like SQUAD or Star Wars Squadrons have no issues.
Has anyone seen this before and does anyone know how to correct it?
I FINALLY FOUND THE ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
So after changing up the hardware and trying out different video cards and monitors I finally found the issue.
The issue was the GamingOSD software that came with my MSI monitor. For whatever reason that software was making my Apex games crash. Also, this could explain my VR games never had any issue.
So just an FYI, don't use the GamingOSD software from MSI. #MissionAccomplished
