Disconnected from ranked match but can't rejoin and get penalized

What happens when the bug occurs? I was thrown out to lobby (time out) from ranked match and cannot connect again. I'm losing -72 rp and abandoned which is unfair and not my fault. On the VOD I share below, my friend said that my character was still in match and not dead and not getting disconnected before the penalization start
What should be happening instead? I can rejoin the match
