DistrubutedCOM errors can be ignored.

Just as a thing to check hardware wise.

Reseat your GPU and check the power cables are connected.

Once the system clean has been done and the GPU reseat is done we may have to check power saving settings in two area's after.

K well i've reseated the GPU and used the cleaning methods in your 3rd link. Played training for 10 mins, no crashes whatsoever. By now there should have already been one! 🙂

Gonna mark that post of yours as the solution. If anything happens in the near future i'll update this thread. I'll be damned if the GPU wasn't fitted properly this whole time.

Yeah it just happened again on the second game i played today. DEVICE-ERROR-HUNG was the error this time, rather than device removed. :/

side note: i did notice some visible 'hitching' or 'stuttering' playing through this time.

1. In my guide follow section 4 and whitelist Apex with both public and private boxes ticked:

If you have a thirdparty antivirus (not windows defender) could you uninstall that please?

(if you do let me know which AV it is)

2. Press the win key and type power,

>click power and sleep settings.

>Click Additional power settings.

>Select the high performance plan:

>Then click change plan settings.

>Change advanced power settings.

Now here you can take you time to change power settings how you see fit but the key thing to change here is this bit:

set it to that and apply.

3.Right click your desktop and open Nvidia control panel.

> manage 3D settings.

>Program settings.

> Select Apex legends in the drop box.

> Set Power management to maximum performance.

> apply and close the window.

4. Right click your Win menu icon and select device manager.

Under System devices right click all the PCI-toPCI Bridge devices and update them.

(you will notice your system trying to adjust itself as you do this)

Also thanks for being patient, a new bug is hard to find a fix for especially users who wont spend time to identify the issue. :P

The first 3 steps I already had done. Followed through with the 4th in device manager to see that they're already up to date.

Okay run CMD in admin and run each of these:

sfc /scannow
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Im not sure if i mentioned this but uninstall Intel Rapid Storage Technology if you have it installed.

Just tried those methods then, still crashed, and no I dont have rapid storage installed.

(edit: the crashes seem completely sporadic, the one yesterday was at the end of a match. The one I got just then was as I just reached the title screen.)

Ive been looking online at similar issues and they seem to point towards hardware instability.

Have you overclocked your GPU?

Or do you have MSI afterburner or evga percision installed that you don't use?

Just an update from before, I started looking online for solutions and started investigating around permissions in my registry to see if anything was blocking the GPU. I screwed up royally and borked the PC (computer was so messed backups were deleted/restricted). As a result i've now got a fresh install for windows, from the ground up.

Tomorrow i will reinstall apex again, test for crashes and whatnot. That will probably be able to pinpoint whether this is a hardware issue just as you said.

Ahh, yeah registry editing is mostly to edit whats default in windows it won't fix a problem when the registry intends to work by default.

BTW the sfc /scannow stuff we did earlier would have resolved that if there was a problem with the registry.

There are some tests we can do for the GPU if there is still an issue.

There is two solutions to try, one being a tempoarly fix that will allow you to use the GPU.

Second being to RMA the card as it fails to perform as expected.

and once again if it does crash like before, could you post the exact details of the hardware you brought?

Yeah everything is set up, got the error again. :/

motherboard: ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING

CPU: Ryzen Threadripper 1920x

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080

Ram: 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM

PSU: Thermatake 750W

SSD: ALLIED 240gb

With your GPU is that a founders card?

And your ram could you tell me the exact brand and model?

Create a custom profile and max out the settings with 4K resolution.

Run the test for 30mins and observe the test for the first 5 mins for any faults.

At the end of the 30 mins let me know the temperature.

Ill start running that test now.

To answer your question, no i don't have a Founder's edition card.

Also the brand of my ram is called TeamGroup, two 8gb DDr4 sticks.

Model is: Model TED48G2400C16BK 

Coming up to the end of the test now, no faults that I can see. Testing on Ultra settings with Extreme tessellation, doesn't drop below 100 fps anyway throughout the little sequence it goes through. Coming up to 30 mins now and the highest I've seen the temperature go is 70C. It seems to flicker around the high 60's, hits 70C then goes down again. Never goes beyond 70.

Pretty sure this is the right one.

Hmm alright since we can only get the crash to happen through apex lets use it as a stress test. (games can stress a GPU in different ways that vary between games)

Download MSI after burner here: http://download.msi.com/uti_exe/vga/MSIAfterburnerSetup.zip

and setup the settings like so:

so max out the temp and power and untick the magnet icon to the left if enabled.

set the core clock to -100

Click the tick button and leave Msi running in the background.

Now play Apex and see if it crashes.

Also do you have any old GPU's lying around?

Used the Msi program, if anything it made it crash faster? Not sure if the speed meant anything as it has happened at the menu before multiple times. 

I dont have any old gpu's lying around unfortunately.

Okay try each test and post the results in the numerical order they are posted in:

1.Set the core clock to 0 and check again how does it compare to the -100 test.

2.put everythong back to 0 but set the core clock to -100 and test.

3.Max out the core voltage, if its faded out you can click the gear cog icon and copy my settings like so:

Also may i get the exact model of your PSU?

Test-1: Crash received within 10-15 mins sitting in training mode

Test-2: Crash within less than 2 minutes upon booting the game. received at menu

Test-3: Crash 5-10 mins sitting in training mode.

All the same error.
