Fluctuating Sensitivity Using PS4 Controller on PC

Product: Apex Legends
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number GeForce GTX 1070
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16GB
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? SlayedByBlade
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)? Mirage
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Multiple places.
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Looking around.
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? Up until this last update.
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 26.2.19 10:00 EST
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? When using a PS4 controller and playing on a PC. There seems to be some sort of tracking issues or velocity problem when looking around both scoped-in and normally. The speeds will fluctuate and drastically impact aiming/pinging ability. This definitely wasn't an issue on launch but has gotten pretty bad over the last few days. I've included a video of the issue: https://streamable.com/wfo9z
What should be happening instead? I should be able to look around smoothly without my speed randomly fluctuating.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plug in a PS4 controller and look around. It was happening to me and others a good bit.

Here is the video link again:

Has this issue been resolved? I'm dealing with this issue still. Using an xbox elite controller on pc playing on 5/5 sensitivity. Randomly during matches the sens will slow to what feels like 1/1 and it'll end randomly. If I flick my mouse the mouse will have a normal sens but has no effect on the controller sensitivity.

I am having similar issues every time I try to connect my ps4 controller to my pc. Even if I change the response curves to linear or high velocity, there is a noticeable intermittent sensitivity slowdown when rotating my character 360 degrees. To me, this is a game-breaking issue I literally cannot track my enemies accurately when there are noticeable dips in my sensitivity. I sure do hope that this gets fixed because when I plug in my controller and play another controller friendly game on pc, there is no issue with my right analog stick sensitivity.

I am a serious gamer and have been struggling with this problem for quite some time now on PC. I logged into my ea account just to give my personal input on this matter. Anyway, I use an xbox elite controller and it works perfectly fine with any other game. I have tried adjusting my video settings which seems to smooth this problem up and slightly improve the effect of The (fluctuating sensitivity) we controller players experience. This problem typically occurs in enclosed and more cramped environments all over the map, and especially when in the firing range. It makes it very hard to get an accurate representation of what your sensitivity truly is at when trying to tune it in firing range. Not to mention how many times I have died in real games due to this problem.

  • The thing u said about when this problem typically occurs is exactly what I'm experiencing when trying to play this game. That's unplayable.

  • i have the same problem. Inconsistent Sensivity with controller,

I can fix it, by turning all video settings to ultra. If i start to decrease some values, my controller sensivity starts to become inconsistent. Really one of the weirdest bugs ive ever experienced :O Usually i played apex with ultra settings anyway, coz i just bought a new PC. But after watching some twitch hours of apex, i noticed every1 is playing with * graphic settings, so i tried. Thats where this * started... Am forced to use mouse and keyboard if i want to decrease some graphic settings.... -.-

    GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!

I've just found solution to this problem! All you have to do is set your "ambient occlusion quality" to HIGH!! It's that simple, but I didn't know what that setting does. That's why I didn't realise why i've been having this weird problem with sensitivity when I was trying to reduce all my video settings because streamers did so...

  • Cap your fps back to 144 if you've made it unlimited. If that doesn't work, try to enable "Adaptive Supersampling".

  • Okay so i've encoutered this problem myself and i was so frustrated by it that i had to find a solution. AND I DID.

The controller input is where the game fails, you dont need to buy a new controller you just need to tweak soms settings, first lets go to the ALC tab (advanced look controls)

This is the way you need to play the game if you dont want to experience any sensitivity bugs.

Keep the Deadzone tab to own preference, the lower it is the more control you have, also if ur controller is very old you might experience stick drift then just bump it up until the stickdrift is gone.

Outher treshhold, now this is were the bug comes from, bump it a little bit higher then recommended because the game doesnt read the input u give on the controller.

    Response curve (own preference)

    Yaw speed/pitcher speed (look sensitivity)

    Also put to own preference

TURNING EXTRA YAW, this is also were the game bugs the sensitivity if you turn this al the way down u dont experience the sensitivity bug anymore, but u turn slow AF and we dont want that. Try to find the sweet spot for it and set it to recommended, the keep on bumping it down until the sensitivity bug doesnt occur anymore.

For me this was the trick to fix apex and now i can finally enjoy the game again. If ur on ps4 and u have the same problems, ill be happy to help you in the firing range to fix this problem.

    My psn:karpvlees

Just send me a friend request and type a message about apex sensitivity bug and i will help you as good as i can.

Sorry if my english sucks, not my native language.

    Peace
