I have an 5800x  and i can go up to 4000hz. 8000hz has mini stutters.  You have an 5600x so maybe thatswhy u cant go higher than 2khz. 
i think 4khz is a sweet spot. 0.25ms input lag only. 8khz has 0.125 , so the difference is negligible. you wont feel it.

@Legendistan I have a 5900x and it can't even handle 4000hz on apex and if i try 8khz it goes to 2 fps
