Friends List Bug Apex Legends

Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Invite friends to a game
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. I was trying to invite my friends to a game
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 0
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 30.03.02.47
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Little to no impact to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? On the new ps5 version, it shows that no friends are online in the menu, even though my friends are online. So I am not able to invite any friends to my game.
What should be happening instead? It should show that my friends are online.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Two people log onto the new ps5 version of the game and see if it shows if they are online.

On the new PS5 version of the game, it says that there are no friends online, even when my friends are on the game. And I cannot invite them.

    I’m on ps4 and can only see ps4 players currently playing apex even though there are friends on ps5 also playing but not showing up on my end. When you try to invite them to  play they never receive the invite

    @magicalmax77 I hit the "me too" button, but I want to tell you @EA_Mako sent me here from another thread. I did a search and found a thread about Apex gamers on this support forum titled "Solved: Cant Find Friends (APEX)" no solution I saw was present. So I asked @EA_Mako where the solution might be found? He locked the thread and told me the answer is to come here. So my new question is this; how long before they mark this "solved" and lock the thread? I wouldn't be giving Mr. Mako such a hard time, if he had the thread merged or locked it and marked it Unsolved. Now when players search they will get that thread and see no solution.

    I am running a Linux PC and no issues of playing. My "friend" is my room mate in the same apartment. You would think this would be easy as A, B, C? His PS4 cannot see me and I cannot see him from my PC. Even tried email in place of user ID. We are both on the St. Louis server, we both share the same router, yet this game cannot seem to find us to play as a team. I am calling EA out on this so called "cross-play" game.

    I don't know about you guys, makes me want to just start throwing money at this game. I guess we all know one thing for sure. We are not the problem. I will pop back on to see where that "solution" is located.

    Today someone suggested I try a new Windows OS PC, so I went to a good friend who has a Windows 11 PC.  I installed the program to his machine, opened my account, then called my room mate, and asked them to log in on the PS4.  No dice people.   Uninstalled it from the Windows PC and went back home.

    Since I only installed this "free to play game" to have fun with my friends, I am probably not going to be using it often.  I certainly will not contribute money to another broken game either.  In the past, I played games such as this, gave generously to their development.  Do you recall when PUBG and Fortnight introduced bot AI's to their games?  Maybe those difficult players you encounter are not players at all?  Maybe you cannot hook up with your friends in this game because cross-play is a fiction?

    Ok EA, we followed all your instructions from support, time to tell us the truth.

    Today we solved this issue, as in we gamers, and not EA support.  I will leave our work around here as it deals with jumping through some hoops.  Is this solved?  Not in the least.  There should not be a need for players to do a work around.

    1. While doing some random battles, I finally got a PSN gamer to friend me.

    2. I told them my friend's PSN handle and they invited them to the next match.

    3. Then my friend was able to see me and friend me.

    Now I can finally play with people I know and kill total strangers!!

    EA should be able to work it out without our help.  This is probably one of their better games afterall.
