Gun changing slot bug

What happens when the bug occurs? When you equip or unequip an attachment from a gun that's in the second slot while not having a gun in the first slot (likely because you moved it yourself) the gun will automatically change to the first slot.
What should be happening instead? The gun should remain in the second slot.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place a weapon in the second slot, make sure the first slot is empty, then equip or unequip an attachment from it.

This bug has existed  at least since I started playing in Season 7, but I've never bothered to mention it until now.  If a gun is in the second slot it means I want it to be there.  I only use shotguns in the second slot because it is what I am very comfortable with.  This sort of thing happening during a fight (especially off drop) can cause you to lose it, which is a big problem.
