What happens when the bug occurs? Sound is flat and has no depth , audio sources are hard to pinpoint , no surround audio.
What should be happening instead? Audio should be Surround and able to be perceived better.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game using Dolby Atmos and check if the Audio prompt in the bottom of the Audio tab in the settings displays "Surround" or "Stereo".
I have been using the Logitech G Pro X headset together with Dolby Atmos and before the new season patches , I had to manually set the parameter "sound_num_speakers" to "8" in the settings.cfg file. Granted , there was still the issue of having to restart the game every time I first opened it due to Apex resetting the spacial audio setting from using Dolby Atmos to using nothing , but at least I had surround sound working.
After the latest patch , everything sounds "flat" and two dimensional like there is absolutely no depth to sound. This is extremely frustrating as it is almost impossible to tell where sounds are coming from. Furthermore , even after changing "sound_num_speakers" to 8 , there still is no change in the Apex Audio settings prompt , as it says "Headphones/Stereo" while it used to display "7.1 Surround".
I would appreciate a fix or at the very least some tweaks i can do myself to solve the issue. Let me know if more information is needed.
