Never recieved my hierloom shards

Hello to whomever this concerns,

I recieved an apex pack from leveling up and opened it while I was on queue to the next match. I was very excited when I pulled my first heirloom shards, and was celebrating as the next match started before I could spend them. After that match, I went over to the mythic section and it showed I had 0 shards. The pack from prior was still there, which I re-opened hoping it would fix itself and I recieved 2 grey items and 1 blue item. It has been a few days since, and I've setup two cases with support about this issue. The last advisor told me I should post on this forum and was very polite. My main concerns about the bug are,

#1, When will I get the shards I pulled if at all and

#2, Will this reset the count towards the guaranteed heirloom in 500 packs on my account?

Thank you for your time

  • @SuperGodRaptor When you had opened up the pack, did you see the Heirloom Shards appear, or did you only see the pack's lighting, (as it does have a bit of red in it while its being opened)?

Meanwhile, it is my understanding that when a pack is opened, the items are added to the account while the pack is being opened. (This would mean that if you had gotten any Heirloom Shards, you would of seen your total Heirloom Shards go up to 150 from 0).

Since you still have 0 Heirloom Shards, I'm guessing you had saw the red lighting effect briefly before the match had started. (Although, its weird that you had gotten the pack back).

Were you rewarded a pack after the match was over, (either by leveling up your account or by leveling up the Battle Pass)?

As for your other concern: "Will this reset the count towards the guaranteed heirloom in 500 packs on my account?" - @SuperGodRaptor

    - Since no Heirloom Shards were granted, (especially if you had only saw the red lighting effect), then it shouldn't reset the counter towards a guaranteed Heirloom.

    • The pack was in the process of being opened, so I only saw the red lighting, not the actual the heirloom shards bundles by the time I connected to the match. Also, after the match I didn't get another pack, so it must've been the same one. I also had the battle pass max level at the time so I know it couldn't have gotten another one from that. It seemed as if it never counted me opening it in the first place when I 100% did. It may also be worth mentioning that my connection to the server isn't so great, considering I live in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas, which may have contributed in some way. It is playable, but still bad. I hope this answers a few questions you had.

    Thanks for your help!

"The pack was in the process of being opened, so I only saw the red lighting, not the actual the heirloom shards bundles by the time I connected to the match" - @SuperGodRaptor

    - That would make sense why you did get any Heirloom Shards, as the packs likes to get your hopes up. I've been fooled by the red lighting effect many times myself.

"Also, after the match I didn't get another pack" - @SuperGodRaptor

    - If I had to take a guess, there was a desync between you and the server, (as you had mentioned having a not-so-great connection). If there was this desync, it would make a lot of sense to me.

Basically, when you had clicked on "Ready", and was opening up the pack, there was a delay between both actions. The server was told you had readied up, but before it was told you were also opening up a pack, it had thrown you into a match, (and I'm guessing that had canceled the pack from being opened)

If that was the case, then it wasn't processed on the server's side of things, so the server must of thought that the pack was never opened, and therefore it "wasn't".

From what I've heard about packs, it should contain the same items it had if it somehow ended up unopened again, (so what you had gotten from the pack should be what it had contained, but I'm not fully sure if this is the case).

    - It did, thank you!

I hope you're able to get Heirloom Shards in the near future. I know how it feels to want an Heirloom, as I've been playing since the first month of the game's release, and I didn't get my first set of shards until S11, and was later lucky to draw again in S13. (Which thanks to the Black Friday store sale last year, I had turned the second set of shards into two Heirlooms, as it was a 2 for 1 bundle. It didn't bother me that the Heirlooms from the pack would be random either, as two was better than one).

When you do get yourself some Heirloom Shards, it might be worth to hold onto those for a bit, (like I had done). You'll never know if a much cooler Heirloom or offer gets released until its too late!
