I am with you 100% here. I was told by EA Support that the Switch version is very stable, which is laughable. I've played since launch on the Switch with nearly 300 hours logged so far. I also play on Xbox, and my BF solely uses the Xbox - I've even played on PC for a spell and I've never seen any of these issues there.
Currently, I have been getting this error upwards of 4+ times a day since launch. I have gone through support many times. We have tried everything, even upgraded our internet to see if that might help. No one has an idea what is going on. The lack of support, even acknowledgement is extremely upsetting for me. I actually briefly managed to get Ryan Rigney's attention yesterday after my Switch support question went unanswered on the AMA they did on Reddit. For those who don't know, Ryan is the Director of Comms at Respawn. I explained our situation to him.
His initial response was this;
We actually are still working with the team that did the port, Panic Button, to make sure each season launches smoothly. It's ultimately the same game (with performance settings differences) across all platforms so bugs affecting it are probably cross-platform.
I explained I am a cross platform player and have used both PC and Xbox, and reiterated to him that I have never seen this happen on other platforms (I cannot speak for PS series) my boyfriend must have well over a thousand hours banked, maybe more, he hasn't seen it either.
Ryan later said he would "follow up with the team on it" and I am hoping, hoping that maybe it will finally be looked at. I would advise people to keep posting here and on Reddit, take screenshots of your match results so you have back up evidence. Call them out (respectfully? ideally. It's so frustrating and disheartening I know but gotta stay civil when dealing with people directly, that's just courtesy.) on twitter. I would also encourage people to write Panic Button, the team who launched the Switch port, whom still are actively working with Respawn about the bugs. Who knows, maybe they will listen. Pleases keep reporting your cases, keep reaching out to Respawn, EA, and Panic Button. Show them the match results, give them the info. What's the worst that can happen? We lose a few minutes reaching out - but that's whatever. We are already losing chunks off time because our game wont record that we're playing it. What's a few minutes more to report the bug?
It is insane that all these bugs are still going on. If I didn't have access to an Xbox I don't know if I would still be playing in all honesty. I love the game and have met some cool people through the community - but the Switch port is so inexcusably buggy and the sheer lack of acknowledgment or support is extremely disheartening.
I know we will never, ever get compensation for this. I'm kind of past that point now anyway, I just want a fix.
I appreciate that you reported this glitch, i really want it to stop, the + and - trick worked for me in the past but i just won an arenas game with 3000 damage and i didn't get my XP, and getting to the menu and starting the game again didn't work. I'm sick of this glitch, and they are right, this happens on other platforms as well, i saw some Xbox and PC guys complaining about this as well. The real question is, if this happens across all platforms, why haven't Respawn fixed it yet?
- 4 years ago@SmilingShadow900 I’m wondering if maybe a lot of people aren’t reporting it? I know Switch players have been vocal but I can’t speak for the other platforms - I don’t (personally) know anyone on those platforms who have experienced it.
We can complain all day but if we don’t report it, they can come back and say they were unaware I would imagine. Maybe people aren’t taking the extra step?
The Switch is probably a smaller player base so maybe making sure it’s stable isn’t at the forefront, but if it’s happening on other platforms and they still aren’t addressing it - that’s jacked up. I agree though it’s bad enough it’s happening on one platform but if it’s happening across all of them we should have heard something by now, you would think. Or it would be fixed.
We need some high ranked players reporting Masters/Preds seem to get things done. They always listen to them. Something wrong with ranked? Fixed ASAP. Ranked or the store and it’s communicated on and fixed as quick as they possibly can do it. Sorry if I sound a bit jaded. I’m just tired and want to enjoy my game. 💀- 4 years ago

@SmilingShadow900Honestly I have no idea. I’d probably start with getting the general community involved if possible. Maybe someone make a discussion on the subreddit. I know the devs are pretty active there and at least read up on stuff. We have a massive range of player types who frequent it. Streamers, youtubers, casuals, hardcore ranked players. It’s our melting pot. From there you can gather user experience across all platforms at least. Who knows - maybe if we were to cause a big enough stink it would make Respawn and co. A bit more forthcoming? If there’s one thing that subreddit likes it’s voicing its opinion and holding Respawn accountable when they need to be.
I’m not sure how to approach specific content creators - because to me I feel like unless it is something they’ve dealt with while they might empathize with us, but not enough to use their platform to bring attention to it you know? It’s tricky. I wish I had better suggestions for this.
I talked to my boyfriend about it and he can’t believe we won’t even get compensation/be retroactively granted our rewards (Badges, stars) and XP for everything we’ve lost and missed out on due to errors.
My boyfriend: Oh people are taking screenshots? At least they can prove they did it, so they can get their badges and such later.
Me: Yeah actually…no. We cannot and will not be compensated for any ‘losses’. At the end of the day we won’t get anything.
My boyfriend proceeded to look at me like I was crazy and ask WTF?
