What happens when the bug occurs? When using octanes jump pad, if you press the jump button (space) too soon after hitting the pad the jump will be cut short and occasionally it will cause an issue with screen tearing and regular jumps having the "jet jump effect".
What should be happening instead? Should hit the jump pad and soar through the sky, like an eagle without a worry in the world.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Can be reproduced in training area by throwing down an octane jump pad, then get a run up to the pad and just as you hit the pad press the jump key. (see the attached video)
I have been an octane main since season 4 and I've only just started to notice this issue in season 6. The issue may be related to network delays as it can be completely mitigated by slightly delaying pressing the jump key to after the pad has launched you. For what its worth I average 22ms ping to my local server (Sydney). While the bug can be avoided by delaying the jump key press, often when rushing to back my squad mates up I don't have the presence of mind to time this too perfection and the resulting glitch usually costs ~5 seconds of time, almost always being enough to lose us the gunfight.
