What happens when the bug occurs? This is the first time it's happened to me, but after landing on the dropship we got the "Return to the battle!" message with the 30 seconds countdown. I look down below us to find that the dropship was moving very close to the arch where one would also get the message if flying off of a baloon and getting too close to it, so I figured "ah, it's probably just that." - The countdown presist, so I try to jump off the dropship to see if it helps. The countdown keeps going, but stops every time I jump. Eventually, the timer reaches 0 on RaSun86 who drops dead, then me.
What should be happening instead? Not sure what to put here.. ;P Not what happened, at least! ;p
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I believe if you manage to get the dropship to do the same movement/path as it took in our game, it will happen to you too. Not sure though, but I think what triggered it was that it was flying too close to the top of the mountain-arch where you see me look down at in the beginning of the attatched video.

Yup! This happened to me and my buds yesterday. I think it happens whenever you are on the dropship as its going over a big hill. One of us it didn't affect because he jumped off before it gave us the message. So he ran around reviving us on every single respawn beacon LOL
we got second place.
10/10 would "Return to the Battle!" again.
Just happened to me when I jumped off the top level of the loot ship onto a lower floor, I was the only one on the ship affected. If you jump off the ground the timer stops, and you can try to climb up a surface or take a zipline to refresh your timer while off the ground. Climbing up on a balloon did not seem to stop the timer though.

Also experienced on Xbox One S. Using a zipline set by pathfinder resets the 30 second timer. Respawned twice in the same match and both times the bug persisted. The first rez i had instant death upon landing, the second I had the 30 second timer.
This just happened to me.
ReproStep:
1: Get on Dropship.
2: Get knockdown
3: Get revived.
4: Notice how nothing will get you back to battle. I tried zipline and get out of bounds to reset the timer. ONLY jumping was putting the timer on pause.

Yeah, same hear. For me it seemed like being on air stops the countdown. Also redeploy does not help. My Squad did it twice on me, no chance.
When you land on the edge of the supply ship, it prompts the "return to battle" countdown. If your feet are on the ground, anywhere on the map, it will count down until you die. If you are revived, your character dies as soon as your feet touch the ground again.
Just had this issue happen to me as well. I landed in the supply ship, got looted up then dropped down to the lower level and the countdown started. I jumped off the ship hoping it would work but then I died.
I was revived then the counter started again. I couldn't stop the timer except when I jumped in the air.

What happens when the bug occurs? I dropped from the airship, and landed on the lootable one, however I fell just short, and bounced off. When I hit the ground I also bounced off another rock, and got launched a good few metres. After this there was a prompt to return to the battle, which I couldn't since I was already on the ground. the prompt stuck around, however when I jumped it seemed to take the prompt off screen.
What should be happening instead? Landing and being able to loot + play

Same thing happened to me. Looted the drop ship and jumped off. Got rezzed, timer just started again and I died a second time when the timer reached zero.
ive had this bug prob like 30 times already, because i drop on ship most of the time. really fucn cancer and been there since start and still not fixed, ea just doesnt give a * as long as the game seems fine to the majority of the people. money hungry company that doesnt give a * about the players if it doesnt have major inpact on their income. legit incompetent people who can only focus on adding micropayments on the game

What happens when the bug occurs? When I landed on the supply ship I got the "Return to battle field in (Amount of time)" message on my screen so I looted and then jumped down for the message to not disappear, finally the timer hit 0 and I died yet this did not happen to my team mates. I then had my banner delivered to a beacon which when I respawned and landed I instantly died again.
What should be happening instead? There should be no timer on the supply ship and if there is it should disappear if you jump off
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Keep landing on the supply ship until the bug happens? I primarily play Pathfinder but out of the 5-6 times ive landed on the supply ship its only happened once, so I assume it is a rare bug

Hi i just joined a game with a friend we landed on the supply ship and it buged out it keeps saying return to battle after the timer runs out 2 off us died my friend picked up our banner and respawned me and my team mate and everytime we landed i died my team mate sayed jump it helped for him but not for me i keep getting the warning return to battle :S

What happens when the bug occurs? game says that you need to return to battle every time you are on the ground. the only way to stop the countdown from ticking is to be in the air/on a zipline. being on a zipline helped restart the 30 second timer. also, one time in the same game with the issue occurring, spawned in using respawner, when landed instantly died ( without ability to revive )
What should be happening instead? game should only show return to battle if player is out of bounds
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. spawned in on drop ship. 2. issue started occurring when dropship was hovering over mountains. 3. dropped down in PLAY AREA in order to stop the countdown. 4. "return to the battle" countdown continued every time one was not in the air in some way
issue occurred while landing on a drop ship from start of game. after ship was moving over mountains, "return to battle" warning appeared along with countdown. teammates also had countdown. in order to try and fix issue, landed on ground that was within play area. every time the character was on the ground (making contact with the ground), the "return to battle" warning countdown would continue. (this issue would not occur for my teammates that stayed on the drop ship. I then died once. my teammate picked up my banner and respawned me at the nearest respawner. upon landing from the respawn ship, instantly died and could not be revived. again, we spawned in by teammate that picked up banner at next respawner, and upon landing, received the same "return to battlefield" warning along with 30 second countdown. in order to avert this issue, jumped constantly and rushed to a zipline thinking that since it is technically not ground, may stop timer. my assumption was correct and the timer would not appear while ziplined ( or in the air in any fashion, such as jumping ). error continued through entire game, making it relatively impossible to play the game due to not being able to not stop jumping or ziplining. also, upon being downed by an enemy team, the "return to battlefield" warning would continue ( as i was downed, on the ground, with no way to get away from the ground). Basically, the entire game, i was playing a good ol game of "the floor is lava".
Landed on the drop ship. I got downed and soon after the "return to battle" message prompted up. Once my squadmate picked me up the message continued killing me right after. My squad picked up the banner and respawned me at an altar where once i hit the ground the "return to battle" message prompted up again. Interestingly, the message would only appear when i was hitting the ground. I got killed again and my friend picked up my banner once more and next time he re spawned me i immediately died when i touched the ground. In my eyes this is pretty game breaking since it ruins the game not only for me (because i cant do anything) but also for my squad who are missing out on a member for no reason. Hopes this gets fixed soon.
Just happened to me, the same exact path for the ship and everything. Seems like that path for the dropship is consistant.,

What happens when the bug occurs? Watch video: I jumped off the battleship and I however I reached normal ground I still had the "return to battle" message. Jumping interrupt the message for a few seconds. However I died. My teammate revived me and I still had the issue. Jumping interrupted it again. Tried going on a jumptower the third time my teammate revived me but that however had no influence.

I've merged your thread with this existing one. Seems that a lot of players experience this.
Just happened to me as well over the shattered forest. Got the warning, jumped off of the ship eventually. Timer continued to tick when I hit the ground and auto-killed me when it ran out. My teammates revived me...counter started again upon revive. Teammates revived me again...died instantly when I hit the ground.
