Penalized for leaving arena early when when server disconnected before match

What happens when the bug occurs? Connection to server failed when trying to load into an arena match. We tried for a couple min to get past the loading screen and after we finally did we got hit with a game abandonment penalty when we couldn’t even get into the game to start with
What should be happening instead? We should be able to join the match and not have to wait 10 min because the server failed
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Shouldn’t be penalized for server problems
