Persistent symbol on screen during gameplay

Product: Apex Legends
Platform:Sony Playstation 4

Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. All
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. All the time in matvh
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? It's persistent
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? There is a bright red speaker symbol that appears on the to right of the screen when in match. It persists throughout the match. I have tried a lot of things but can't seem yo get rid of it.
What should be happening instead? No unidentified symbol, show explanation of why it occurs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know what is causing it so I don't know how you can recreate it. I play on astro a50 connected to ps4 pro.

Attaching screen shot of the symbol. I play on a ole tv and this symbol will leave a burn in. I just need to know how to get rid of it. I hadn't seen this symbol initially till season 7 at least. I left for a couple of seasons and came back last season and have seen this symbol persist in matches.  Please, please tell me what it js and how I can get rid of it. I tried playing around with volume, voice chat but nothing seems to help.

    I have checked further in these forums so I'm just going to quote it.

    it's a warning that the sound generated from the game is set to maximum. The speaker icon is self-evident, and the bit to the right is a fader set to maximum. Nothing to do with lag.

    Of course, your external devices via which you are actually hearing the sound may not be so loud, and even may be muted.

    Appreciate you checking but this is incorrect, as much as i wish it wasn't. I have tried changing maximum sound and all other sound settings within game and in ps4 and this symbol does not go away. I play with my in-game sound set to 90%

    For reference, I've checked forums, twitter, reddit and even contacted EA support. There's no info on it. Subsequently i have also tried to tweet @playapex and haven't gotten any replies.

    Yep, that indeed sucks quite a lot.

    Some say it's caused by audio feedback picked up by your microphone, though others have debunked this.

    Seems to just be a bug where the icon is on the screen for no actual reason.

    It surprises me that there isn't actually information on this, it's been here for quite a while.

    Could be that it's being caused by speakers or headphones, reconnecting them could possibly get rid of this... so maybe that's worth a try if you haven't already?

    Oh well, I do hope we can get an answer soon regarding this issue.

    It seems to be related to headphones but why it's persistent and why i cant turn it off is extremely frustrating since it is damaging my tv. What's really bothering me is that I didn't see this symbol earlier. I started noticing it since season 9  and ive been playing this game since launch. 

    I hope apex support can look into this and provide info. I am not sure what else to do here.
