Earlier this week I realized that my normal username (Stix1198) had been replaced by something else. I play on an Xbox series X and my Xbox account name is still correct, but my apex name has changed to a friend’s name with random symbols and realName at the end of it. (:”HAZNEY1010”,”realName) I don’t understand why this happened and closing and reopening the game doesn’t fix it nor does restarting the Xbox
I have played Apex primarily on an XBOX console, I did play it once in Steam several years ago.
Today I logged in and I noticed my name on Apex was different than my XBOX Gamertag. I started another game (not an EA game) and it appeared that the game had the Gamertag/profile as expected. I have not changed my name, I am not sure how it was changed.
My name on Apex has been changed to :"Grog","realName":"Greg (as seen in the attached screenshot). It looks suspiciously like a JSON segment.
On the surface is does appear that my progression in Apex is intact.
I contacted EA support, the representative initially suggested that I change my XBOX Gamertag to something else and then back to my original Gamertag, but I am apprehensive to do that as I don't want to loose my Gamertag that I have had for decades. The representative then directed me here to post, "so that studio managers can deeply review the case".

Oddly enough, I started Apex again tonight and my name was still incorrect. Then I quit Apex (through the XBOX dashboard, I quit Apex) and started it again and my name was correct.
Not sure what happened (but I do have photographic evidence of it happening).
Also, I do have an XBOX Friend named "Grog" who's real name is in fact, Greg.
Seems like there may have been some memory corruption.
Anyway, It seems to have corrected itself.

What happens when the bug occurs? When i went to launch (play) royale my gamertag was changed on its own and stayed like that, only on Apex, it was changed to someone's gamertag thats on my xbox friends list
What should be happening instead? my gamertag should stay the same as it was before
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I dont know, but my gamertag on apex was changed and i didnt do it
