Re: Apex Legends random Freezing/rubber band/lag?

Hey update everyone, I've found a sort of fix for mine. Or at least in what little testing I've been able to do has worked, I'll continue to test and see if it fully works. But my computer's lan is running through Killer Network control center, and they have added a feature called, "advanced stream detect", which I learned about through some very thorough research through threads. Now I'm not 100% on this solution working, i'm still testing it out. But I went into my Killer Control Center and turned it off. This screenshot shows the option page and under system settings is a off switch for this stream detect. So far I haven't recalled any of the freezing/rubber band. So if this applies to you it may help. I'll try to keep this updated as I play and see if I can get through a day without issues.

I never even use the Killer Control app, not actively at least. I opened it and turned off Advanced Stream Detect as you said and so far I am free of lag spikes! You're a legend, thanks heaps. :D

  • Tried this, worked for me haven’t experienced the lag since. Thanks OP!

  • Hell yeah bro, i'll give this a try. this stupid rubberband trash hasnt stopped me from winning but it is super annoying. Thanks for the info!

Just hoping on to say im having the exact problems as OP mentioned. I also have killer network control installed so I will disable that setting and report back if it didn’t work. If i dont, then it worked. Writing this as of 2/14/19 2:00pm ET

Since, I've posted the killer network solution, I have had none of these issues. But there are still underlying connection issues in apex such as disconnects and what my friends and I call the Stuck in Mud bug, which causes you and everything to move super slowly. Hopefully we can get everyone's issues resolved.

    Thank you very much!!!!
Oh god i never comment on any forum but you posted the fix without needing to and you dont know how much i appreciate it.
Ive gone from reintalling the game to changing my router settings with no changes on this problem, and when i saw your post i shouted "I have that killer control center thing too!!!" and god, I disabled it and now it works flawlesly.
Thank you so much, I was about to drop this game even tho I love it.

i tryed to instal killer control center and its say hardware not compatible so what should i do ?

  • I shouldn't need to change my network settings due to poor coding. They should push a fix.

    Hi,

    Thomas with Killer Networking/Rivet Networks.

I play this game somewhat frequently, and haven't seen any issues. Those with the issues, are you running the latest software from killernetworking.com?

    Regards,

    Thomas
