Re: Binding a key to backslash will unbind it when the game is relaunched

Hi @cmoilesnake

When your keybinds reset after shutting down the game it usually means something has blocked it from writing to the files it uses to save your in-game settings. In a lot of cases this happens because of security software.

If you haven't already, can you double-check and make sure there is an exception for Apex Legends in your security programs?

  • I've checked permissions on my

    C:\Users\Pierre\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local\settings.cfg

    file.

    It is not in read only, and sytstem, me, and admin have all privileges.

    The content of the file is incorrect as soon as I leave the keybinding screen :

    bind_US_standard "`" "+pushtotalk" 0

    I've tried to associate another key to confirm that this is not a permission issue. It works.

    When I assign my $ key, it is stored as ] which is correct on a qwerty keyboard.

    It seems like there is a translation issue. That ² key has no equivalent on a qwerty keyboard.

    @cmoilesnake

    Ah, I see. That makes sense.

    I'm not sure if the game is capable of supporting that specific keybind. I can pass this along as feedback to the team.

  • Hi @EA_Kent

    Is the issue on the "backlog" or on the "ongoing" column on the Apex workboard ?

    Feel free to ask for more input.
