Re: Crazy Screen tear AMD Free sync. Persists through all load and in game

I FINALLY FOUND THE ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

So after changing up the hardware and trying out different video cards and monitors I finally found the issue.

The issue was the GamingOSD software that came with my MSI monitor. For whatever reason that software was making my Apex games crash. Also, this could explain my VR games never had any issue.

So just an FYI, don't use the GamingOSD software from MSI. #MissionAccomplished

Thanks for following up! I'm glad to hear you were able to figure out what was happening. I appreciate you sharing this.

  • So, I still am getting a few crashes without the gaming OSD installed but it takes way longer now. I am not seeing the crazy colors on specific objects anymore so maybe there is another different issue? I did some testing and I gamed on my old acer monitor for about 4 hours without a crash with the EXACT same hardware. So that narrows it down to the monitor for sure. Its strange though. I was able to do 3-4 hours on Warzone with 0 issues on the MSI monitor @ 1440P and 144Hz.

So for whatever reason, Apex does not like my MSI MAG27CQR Monitor. Maybe Apex doesn't like to game above 60 Hz? I'm not going to buy a new monitor just to play apex.

So please let me know if Apex ever starts supporting this monitor or 1440P at 144hz and I'll start playing again. I guess I'll just be on Warzone for now.

Good luck to anyone with this monitor.
