Re: Game crash - failed to decode oodle pak file

Hello,

After hours of struggle. with the game crashing and crashing with the error "Failed to decode oodle pak file", I solved this situation by renaming one of the .starpak files. See the attached file.

Maybe that file had an error in it and the repair option from EA application was not working. I do not understand why so many issues with this game.

I hope it will work also for you.

Next day the oodle pak error came back.

So I proceeded to install the latest video card driver and I switched off the Shader Cache Size to Disabled from Nvidia Control Panel, saved settings and then enabed it back.

Look like this actually worked. Still, a new update is available for Apex Legends. Maybe this update comes for solving the problem.

Best regards,

Why is this marked as sollved? None of the "solutions" work.

It is defently a  bug and should not passed to the user for searching a solution.

  • I tried this after installing the new season and nothing works. Whether it's verifying game files, reinstalling, or even renaming it doesn't work. Please let me know if there's any other fix you've tried that worked!
