I'd like to add that if a player opens 499 Apex packs without getting any shards, 150 Heirloom Shards are guaranteed on the 500th Apex pack.
150 shards drop in a single pack.

You can get the shards cheaper from Anniversary event. (12 hours left)
You can buy the 2 bundles Lifeline 7-pack and Bloodhound 3-pack.
First you craft Epic skins with your Crafting Metals then you open the anniversary packs from the 2 bundles and then you buy the rest anniversary packs.
