Still cannot change model detail

Where did the issue occur? In a match

What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Menu's or in game, the setting wont change

What happens when the bug occurs? I still cannot cannot change my model detail setting, it is stuck on high. I have tried repairing the game through origin, flushing my dns, clearing the cache, system restore to before it started.I have tried to edit the videosettings file and make it read only however the game settings show to be on low but the model detail is still on high. I have also tried using nvidia geforce experience to change the settings. I have tried removing geforce experience and removing every apex legends file from my PC before reinstalling, model detail is still stuck on high and after the removal of autoexec performance improvements, my game play is super choppy and sluggish. I have set the line "setting.r_lod_switch_scale" to 0 in the videoconfig file, that seems to load correctly with very little textures, however if I set it to any number more then that, it loads as if it is set to high. I have tried leaving the line blank, it loads as if I input 0, after I close and reload the game, the textures will be on high and will overwrite the videoconfig file to and set it to 1(high). Even if I set the file to read only, it will load with high model detail settings. It wouldn't be so bad if model detail settings weren't also tied into the map detail as well
What should be happening instead? I should be able to change any of the settings and have them be set to what I selected as well as be saved
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I am not sure, it seems to be pulling settings from somewhere else but I could be wrong, I haven't been able to change it since the start.

Still cannot change model detail after all this time and multiple patches... it wouldn't be so bad if model detail wasn't also linked to the world/map detail

I cannot change model details in-game. It stuck on high setting. I already managed to change other settings to high to low but model details is not changing. I tried to repair game but it didnt work.

Do any of these solutions fix it for you?

Reset settings back to default and restart game

Make changes to config

Custom PC configuration from a forum user

Delete video config file

Go to the video config file and un-check read only (video)

@EA_Blueberry I tried them all again to no avail, I even tried the solutions from the threads you linked me again as well with no luck. There's more info in my original post about what else I have tried

@EA_Blueberry any word of this getting fixed? I can't think of anything else to try, is it something that can be resolved your side?

Hello. Yes u can easily change model detail in apex. But u have to do it in the videoconfig file urself. It dosnt work ingame (bug) have done it myself long time ago. I have set it to low. And i have removed all the shadows for more steady fps. Just search it up on YouTube and u will find plenty of videos on that. I think i gained about 40 fps of doing that. I only hope the anti cheat see that as cheating. Many ppl have been banned from apex bec the anti cheat is bugged. It can ban u from having mouse/keyboard sowtware. This is a big problem out there now. And if u get banned, it is forever. They rly need to fix THIS *. Ppl are paying big money to the game and get bannet bec of a mouse software. I myself have used about 1000$ on apex, and im very worried about getting banned. Have never cheated in my life on anytging. Never seen a cheating program with my own eyes. And i use a corsair keyboard and a logitech mouse. And these 2 softwares are very often banned.

I have tried changing the videoconfig file and setting as read only etc. but it still loads high model detail

@UltimaBlankWhat did u set it on? 0.6 is low. I have it on that. And some ppl it only works with bordeless window, i have it on full window. Only thing what works for me. If i dont have it on full window, the shadows dosnt go away. Try full window if u have not tried it. I love apex but it is such a hassle with this game.

@mrcrysis I have set it to 0.6, it is on fullscreen. It still doesn't work, it shows as being on "low" in the settings menu but the model detail is still on high.
