Many people have reported this issue on Reddit in the last month- please go to https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/search/?q=stuttering&restrict_sr=1&t=month

Fixes:  older nvidia drivers or reducing mouse polling rate to 1000hz - sometimes people need to go down to 500hz to resolve it.

Most likely a vram buffer or some kind of garbage collection not being cleared properly - seems to occur after X minutes.  where X depends on the hardware, but happens regardless - even on top end PCs.

This is a serious problem and needs to be resolved ASAP.

  • @OGshmo

Have you tried disabling your overlays? (e.g. Discord, Steam, EA App, Overwolf, e.t.c.)

I've heard that these stutters can also occur when players are using certain overlays.

    I don't use any overlays.

Apex is the only game this occurs in.  (9700K, 3080ti, 32gb ram, 980 Pro SSD) - it happens to others that also have beast PCs. (someone with a 4090 + 13900k reported it on reddit).

The solutions people have found on are either putting mouse at 1000hz, sometimes they have to go to 500hz to stop it.  Or rolling back to older (1+ year old) nvidia drivers.

my guess is there's a bug that's been introduced - as this issue occurred last year (you can find multiple reports of it in this forum, even) - it was resolved with a patch apparently, so I'm guessing whatever code/bug that caused it has made it back into the game due to branching versions.

Here it is from August last year - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Extreme-stuttering-from-mouse-movement/m-p/11691081/highlight/true#M87885

  • I'm sorry Barry but how is this a solution?  Any wireless mouse plugged in has a maximum of 1000hz refresh, which is the exact same workaround for this problem.

That's not a solution.  I already reported that this is the workaround in my OP, along with other people discovering this problem & same workaround.  Unfortunately, even lowering to 1000hz doesn't resolve for some, they have to go lower, which obviously suggests this is an input buffer problem/ bug/ code budget oversight.

This issue has nothing to do with a mouse being wireless or not, that's not how technology works.  Apex is the only game this occurs in.

Furthermore, you replied 3 times to this post with the same message and clearly didn't even bother to read the previous messages at all - completely unhelpful my dude.
