Unfair Ranked Penality & Unable to Reconnect

What happens when the bug occurs? I was unable to reconnect to the match and when the game was over, I receive unfair ranked penalty.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to reconnect to the match, and not receive penalty.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try turning off the internet connection mid game.

I was playing a ranked match, when my router lost connection for about 10-15 seconds. So I was disconnected from the match and Origin closed Apex. After my connection was back, I reopened the game, expecting to be able to reconnect to the ranked match. Instead I couldn't reconnect and my friend list didn't load correctly. After the ranked match had ended, I received the penalty for abandoning the game.

I have experienced this issue a few times now, and so have my friends.
