What happens when the bug occurs? As of yesterday's update, if I adjust the volume or hit the side keys on my Logitech G203 mouse (known on board as buttons G4 and G5) the game believes I am hitting "C" and "B" respectively. I decided to see if they are bound to crouch and alternate weapon modes respectively, neither are. I checked the Logitech G HUB (the device drivers) and only "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" are bound, and neither involve using keys C or B. When you click to adjust a keybind in game, and click either button, they re-register the bind to "C" or "B" depending on if you press button G4 or button G5. I tried to unbind the keys entirely, and it does not register as a "C" or "B" keystroke at all, but I lose functionality of my mouse's side keys. If I rebind the G4 and G5 buttons to any other system functions (play/pause, back/forward, etc) it triggers a "C" or "B" keypress as well as triggering the desired function of the side keys. Even if i bind the G4 and G5 buttons on my mouse to an actual function in game (by default it is TACTICAL ABILITY and ULTIMATE ABILITY), this does not resolve the issue and neither of these abilities or functions is used, only crouch and alternate weapon mode are triggered. When the G4 and G5 buttons are unbound in my mouse drivers (e.g. disabling the volume up and volume down function) the in game functions are also disabled when bound to those keys.
What should be happening instead? When unbound in game, buttons G4 and G5 should do nothing in game, but should adjust my system's volume, as it used to. Alternatively, when bound in game, they should trigger specific abilities
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a Logitech G203 Lightsync Gaming Mouse (PN: 810-006914) running Logitech G HUB version 2022.7.290502 with buttons G4 and G5 bound to Volume up and Volume down respectively, or unbound completely, and playing Apex Legends with the August 22, 2022 patch, going into any game mode and pressing the side buttons (G4 and G5). You can also see this behaviour when setting keybinds and pressing either button.
