Week 1 Challenge Glitch - Sub machine gun damage not being tracked

I've tried the Volt, Alternater, and R99 in both Competitive, LTM 3s and LTM 2s. I'm not sure what could be causing this but I think it's either a glitch or perhaps I need to meet some sort of special criteria for the SMG damage to go up (Say I have to knock/finish them with the SMG or Shoot them whilst they're knocked in order for the damage to count) as it does go up a little from time to time but no where near enough.

For example, I played a game with an R99 and Volt SMG for 90% of the game and did around 2k damage but there was no change to the counter.
