Bump, with better formatting since the form-generated post is horrible.
What happens when the bug occurs?
When picking up a new weapon, sometimes the wrong weapon is replaced/dropped (the one not highlighted in the UI)
What should be happening instead?
The weapon currently highlighted in the UI should drop instead.
How often does the bug occur?
I've been able to reproduce it every time (100%), by following the steps below.
How can we find the bug ourselves?
This bug can be reproduced anywhere as long as there are 3 weapons. (I.E. the firing range)
- Pick up two weapons so both weapon slots are filled
- Press 2 to equip your SECONDARY weapon
- Press 3 to switch to melee
- Open your inventory
- Swap the weapons around by dragging one into the other's slot
- Exit inventory
- Notice the UI is still highlighting the weapon you were holding in step 2, but now in the PRIMARY slot
- While still in melee, pick up a new gun
- It will replace the weapon in your SECONDARY slot, instead of the highlighted PRIMARY one
This bug is still in the game.
Note that this also influences picking up attachments
(it puts it on the other gun, instead of the one displayed as equipped)

Thanks for the post. I do recall some similar issues around swapping weapon inventory slots in the past. I think this one is tracked too, but may be low-priority.Guess it really is low priority, since it's still present in Season 16.
Still reproducable by following the exact steps as described in the opening post.
Made me accidentally drop a gun with attachments like a bowl of spaghetti again the other day ☹️
Since it requires a pretty specific order of steps, it doesn't really happen that often, but it still kinda sucks.
