This same issue is happening for me. I just bought a brand-new Xbox Series X, was excited to gets started playing Apex, and Apex game chat is completely borked for me. 99% of the time other people in my apex game chat can't hear me at all, and when they can hear me, they say my voice sounds distant and keeps cutting in and out. Voice chat works perfectly in Xbox party chat, just not in Apex game chat. I can't play with my friend who plays on ps4 because we can't communicate. The in-game mic icon doesn't light up at all when I say anything. I've tried every possible solution that I could find for this issue to no avail. My headset is the official Xbox headset and it's brand new, as well as my system. It works for other games in-game chat, but not Apex Legends.
Things I tried -
-Hard reset of all my hardware (Xbox and headset).
-Alternating MAC address
-Port forwarding the recommended ports for Apex Legends on Xbox Series X on my router
-Changing DNS settings
-Ensuring NAT Type is OPEN
-Deleted saved data for Apex from console & restarted Apex
-Checked for updates for my controller and my headset
-Re-installing Apex Legends
-Creating a different Xbox account and EA account
-Numerous other headsets
-Setting a static IP for Xbox Series X
-Made sure my mic works everywhere else (it does)
-Made sure voice-to-text is off
-Toggled voice chat off and back on in Apex settings
-Factory reset Xbox Series X and re-installed Apex legends (again)
-Performed hard reset on my router/modem multiple times
Nothing worked. And I've been trying desperately just to be able to play with my cross-platform friend. So you can see how frustrating this is, especially since I mainly bought this system for Apex Legends. I would just play on PC but I cannot compete with the keyboard and mouse players.
Please help, EA. You're our only hope.

I tried about half of these and its not working for me either. I literally bought and returned 5 different headsets and bought a usb mic because I thought it was a hardware issue. I certainly wished I found this thread before all of that. Please fix this! It's absolutely killing my solo queue experience (as if it wasn't bad enough already)

This is the most embarrassing thing ever
it’s been 50+ days and game chat has NOT been fixed
now the Xbox lobbies are getting ddoss because people are spamming the Xbox button
apex clearly gives no **** about Xbox console players
truly sad, 50+ days a whole ranked split without game chat
and now Xbox x ddoss bugs…
apex does not care about Xbox players. This is so sad. 50+ days.
- 3 years ago@lunaratias I've DM'd EA on Twitter, I've asked them here, I've continued to send messages, and still nothing. I'm telling my friends who have Xbox to send messages as well because it feels like we are being ignored. Apex is the main game that I play, so this has been unbelievably annoying, and makes me not want to play.

They added this issue to Trello under “investigating” a couple of days ago.
Which makes me wonder if they just now decided that this is a problem and are finally looking in to it. We’ve been trying to get their attention for 9 weeks already..
