Well at least we know the system is doing it's job, this change was exactly made with the idea of punishing players like you.
Giving up so fast, then throwing to end the match quicker.
This isn't really great behaviour, no wonder you get punished for it.
You can only leave without a 10-minute penalty if you have a leaver on your team, though you'll sometimes need to wait for the match to begin before you can leave.
So yeah this is intended behaviour.

If it's 3v3 I will fight. I have helped turn around a lot of looked like losses to at least a 5 round fight or even a win. I got no problem with that.
When it's 2v3 or even 1v3 on load cause the matchmaking sucks, and we still can't leave without the 10 minute penalty unless the other does first (and for some reason, if you load in solo, well, no one to "leave first" so you cannot leave at all without penalty) then yeah, it's quicker to thermite your feet and just get it over with and deny the other team their kills (who, will of course, teabag you when they win so easily 2v3 or 1v3, because the best community ever, am I right?).
Either remove it from unranked like BR unranked, or add it to BR unranked. It's not right or fair (or sensible) to punish unranked on one mode and not the other.
