Hello!
I'm an Apex Legends player with 1,500 hours in the game.
I have a few suggestions to make the game more engaging:
1) Ranked Solo Mode
I understand you firmly stand by the idea that Apex Legends is a team-based game. However, solo play is a crucial component of many multiplayer games. Perhaps it's time to reconsider and move away from the rigid stance against it. Solo ranked play could cater to a large portion of the player base who prefer to test their individual skills without relying on teammates.
2) LTM: 1 vs. 1
A fast-paced mode where two players face off against each other. Matches last until one player secures five wins.
- Mechanics:
- Small arena with players receiving random Legends (with ultimates charged to 50%) and random weapons in a single slot.
- A timer ensures rounds don’t last more than 3:30 minutes. If time runs out, a control point unlocks as an alternative victory condition.
- The equal conditions for both players make this mode purely skill-based. There’s no one else to blame—just you and your opponent.
- This mode could eventually evolve into a standalone ranked mode, as it emphasizes skill and competitiveness.
3) Epic In-Game Events
The Revenant invasion event was incredible—we need more experiences like that!
Consider something akin to what Fortnite does: real-time cinematic events at the end of every season. These large-scale spectacles could bring players together to witness explosions, portals, or cinematic cutscenes happening directly on the map. It creates memorable moments, unites the community, and gives players something to be proud of in their favorite game. While you've already done events like this in the past, something on a truly grand scale would leave a lasting impact.
4) Monetization
This is critical since Apex Legends is free-to-play, and monetization is necessary to support developers and future content. However, the community often reacts negatively to monetization strategies perceived as overly greedy. Here are two specific examples:
- Collection Events and Crafting Metals:
Players used to have the option to buy skins with Crafting Metals, but this is no longer available for some Collection Events. This change feels unnecessary and frustrating for players. Reintroducing this option would be a positive step that benefits both the players and the game’s reputation. - Purchasing Heirlooms During Events:
Players with Heirloom Shards often have to wait months or even a year for specific items to return to the shop. Why not allow them to buy the desired item immediately? The current system feels illogical and needlessly restrictive. It's unlikely that many players spend extra money instead of waiting—so why not make the process smoother for those who are ready to purchase?
