(UPDATE) Apex Legends DX12 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / 0x887A0006 on RX 9070 XT

Apex Legends DX12 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / 0x887A0006 on RX 6700 XT | EA Forums - 13668846

Previously ran into the same crash but the solutions in the above thread fixed them until todays update. Now with this new update this crash occurs during the loading screen when loading into any match. I am unable to get past the games title screen without putting:

+staticprop_color_use_bindless 0 +staticprop_depth_use_bindless 0 +r_drawworld_depth_bindless 0 +rhi.dx12.EnableGPUUploadHeaps 0

into the steam launch options. Before the update this worked as a full fix, now it only gets me past the first hurdle of the title screen.

I have been getting this same problem and yes have been using the same Steam launch option to at least get it past the title screen. Additionally, one thing to notice is that however the game is crashing, this launch code still does let me pass through the title screen to queue up for a match. After that much, I can't say anything, as my whole computer freezes and proceeds to give a report for graphic driver timeout.

    commandline:    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Apex Legends\r5apex_dx12.exe" -steam +staticprop_color_use_bindless 0 +staticprop_depth_use_bindless 0 +r_drawworld_depth_bindless 0 -main_loader -game R2
title:    Fatal Error - Engine Error
error:    [DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED] : 0x887A0006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.

    Hey 100T_Infinite Toster2,

We are looking into some reports this has resurfaced following today's update. Just to confirm, can you check what drivers you're currently running? If you're not already on this version, does updating to 26.9.1 improve things at all?

Hay Mako, updating to 26.9.1 fixed the issue for me, its an optional driver update hence why it didn't auto install. I also no longer need to launch the game using the mentioned steam launch options. Thanks for the help.

Those optional updates always sneak by under the radar, glad to hear this one did the trick and even cleared up the need for the extra launch options.

Good luck in the new split!

    Hey! EA_Mako

Thank you very much! This has completely fixed my issue! And as 100T_Infinite mentioned, due to the update, the driver was optional; not even any AI could have worked around it. Really appreciate your timely responses and help!

Update: The custom launch options aren't working for me anymore, so EA_Mako's fix would be the way to go:
