Battlefield 6 Beta Feedback
The Battlefield 6 Beta demonstrates strong core gameplay, satisfying gunplay, and engaging vehicle combat. Key areas for improvement include weapon balance and recoil consistency, explosive effectiveness, vehicle physics and durability, chaotic map layouts, visual clarity, and audio feedback. Additional refinements are needed for HUD/customization, tagging, spawn systems, and class dynamics. Implementing these adjustments, along with a server browser, rank progression, and offline training modes, will enhance competitive play, player clarity, and overall Battlefield experience.
1. Weapons
Overview: Gunplay is generally very good.
- Recoil & Spray: Inconsistent recoil and random spray affect precision. Recommend reviewing recoil patterns and consistency across weapons.
- Underperforming Weapons: Some SMGs, DMRs, and pistols feel underwhelming. Consider damage or accuracy adjustments.
- Thermobaric Launcher: Feels very strong. Recommend slight damage or splash reduction.
- TTK Variation: Time-to-kill is acceptable overall but varies depending on weapon and situation. Consider minor tuning for consistency.
2. Explosives
- C4: Can be thrown too far, extremely effective against vehicles. Recommend adjusting range or blast radius.
3.Vehicles
- Tanks: Main gun needs slightly more effectiveness against infantry.
- APCs: Generally well-balanced.
- Munition & Resupply: Refilling works but takes longer than ideal. Recommend slightly faster resupply time.
- Controls: Driving (backward) feels awkward. FPV can unintentionally switch to third-person. Recommend fixing camera behavior and control consistency.
- Weight & Physics: Vehicles feel too light. Ramming by small vehicles can push tanks unrealistically. Suggest tuning mass and collision physics.
- Vehicle Vulnerability: Tanks and APCs feel inconsistently resistant to damage. Recommend balancing durability and armor mechanics.
- Helicopters & Jets: Maneuverability, speed, and repair mechanics need improvement, especially in tight combat scenarios.
4. Visuals
- Camo & Contrast: Enemy identification is difficult. Consider improving visual contrast and marker timing.
- Lighting & Interiors: Brightness/contrast issues hinder visibility, especially inside buildings. Recommend refining lighting and color balance.
- Dynamic Elements: Beta lacks environmental variation. Suggest adding weather effects, day/night cycles, fog, and wind for immersion and gameplay variety.
5. Spawn / Revive / Class Systems
- Respawn and revive mechanics are okay.
- Open classes are fine, allowing both open and closed options is recommended for player preference.
6. HUD, UI & Audio
- HUD & Compass: Default compass is useful. HUD should be more customizable.
- Scopes / Crosshairs: Need optic-specific customization options.
- Audio Cues: Footsteps, explosions, stingers, and suppression need louder, clearer, and more directional feedback.
- UI Style: Lean, less cluttered UI preferred.
7. Tagging / Pinging
- Tagging and pinging are useful but need refinement. Sometimes pings are too accurate, other times ineffective. Recommend balancing visibility and accuracy.
8. Server Browser & Ranks
- Server Browser: Essential for community and competitive play, consider implementing at launch.
- Rank System: Prefer BF2/BF3 style progression.
9. Minor / Miscellaneous
- Spotting / Glint: Reduce sniper glint.
- Challenges & Rewards: Improve squad points and class-specific reward balance.
- Offline / Training Modes: Include options for vehicle practice.
Summary:
Battlefield 6 Beta was fun and engaging but needs improvements in weapon and vehicle balance, map clarity, audio/visual feedback, HUD customization, and competitive features to enhance strategic depth and overall player experience.
Having played Battlefield since BF1942, this beta was an incredible experience. I’m grateful for it and genuinely looking forward to the full release.
