I haven’t read all the posts, but from what I see, I’m shocked.
I have no idea what you’re expecting from a modern Battlefield, but what the beta has shown is closer to an “old school” BF than anything we’ve seen in over a decade.
Of course, it’s not perfect. It can never be. For one thing, the gaming community and the market are different than back then, and for another, even half of today’s developers couldn’t have played legendary games like BF2, because they might have been around 10 years old at the time. They can recreate Maps or Classes but not a "feeling".
Compared to 2042, BF6 gets so much more right that at some point you just have to come to terms with it and adapt to the current circumstances. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t post their constructive feedback or wishes, but the fact is that the old game feeling will never come back. That’s simply impossible.
As for technical details – I still play BF3 now and then, and the progress in BF6 is more than obvious. Especially when it comes to netcode and hitreg. You can’t just compare everything based on memories; you have to try to be objective. Even though BF3 is my absolute favorite Battlefield, you have to acknowledge the technical improvements and live with the gameplay changes as they are.
I also wish for BF3 air physics to return, or certain maps and modes. I’m putting a lot of hope into Portal, even though I’ll probably end up disappointed. But that doesn’t make BF6 a worse game. Just a different one.
