Battlefield 6 Open Beta: The Game About Not Playing the Game

So apparently, “open beta” now means:

Only playable on the weekend.
Watch 30 minutes of Twitch streams (because nothing says testing a shooter like watching someone else shoot).
Even if you pre-purchased, enjoy your hoops — they’re on the house.

I mean, silly me… I thought paying early for a game meant more access, not less. But no, EA/DICE have decided the best way to reward loyal fans is to put the game in a glass box and let us press our noses up against it until the weekend rolls around.

Maybe the next Battlefield will have a beta you can only play during a full moon while balancing on one leg. Until then, I guess I’ll keep staring at my desktop icon, dreaming of actually clicking “Play.”
