BF6 Beta General Feedback
🛠️ BF6 Beta Feedback – Honest Thoughts from a Longtime Battlefield Fan
Hey devs,
I’ve spent time with the BF6 Beta and wanted to share some honest feedback that I hope helps shape the final game. I’ve been a Battlefield player for years, and while I appreciate the effort going into BF6, there are a few areas that feel off—especially compared to what made previous titles great.
🎯 Suppression & Spotting Mechanics & Explosives
- One of the biggest annoyances in the Beta was the complete lack of suppression. Light machine guns (LMGs) felt useless in their intended role—there was no incentive to lay down covering fire or control space. Suppression used to be a tactical tool in Battlefield, and its absence removes depth from firefights.
- Automatic spotting also felt broken. Getting spotted just because a sniper glanced in your direction is frustrating and unrealistic. Battlefield used to reward manual spotting and communication—please bring that back.
- Let spotting be manual and intentional, not passive or automatic. It encourages teamwork and skill rather than random detection.
- Grenades and RPGs felt weak and cartoony. There was no real sense of danger or impact when using them. Explosions lacked weight, sound design felt flat, and the visuals didn’t match the destructive power these weapons should have.
- Please bring back the gritty, high-impact feel of explosives. Make grenades deadly, RPGs powerful, and explosions something players genuinely react to.
🗺️ Maps & Levelution
- BF6 maps feel static and lack the dynamic energy that made Battlefield 4 maps iconic.
- BF4 had Levelution, which added real-time environmental changes that impacted gameplay—like collapsing skyscrapers, flooding, and sandstorms. These moments created tension, strategy, and replayability.
- Some standout BF4 maps worth revisiting or drawing inspiration from include Siege of Shanghai, Operation Locker, Golmud Railway, Zavod 311, Paracel Storm, and Flood Zone.
- These maps had verticality, vehicle balance, and destructibility that made every match feel different. BF6 could benefit from bringing back that kind of environmental storytelling and tactical depth.
🎮 User Interface & Gameplay Feel
- The GUI feels heavily influenced by Call of Duty—lots of micro stats like jump responsiveness, slide speed, etc. It’s overwhelming and doesn’t feel true to Battlefield’s identity.
- Movement mechanics (sliding, jumping) feel more arcade-like than tactical. It’s fast, but not immersive.
🔫 Weapons & Attachments
- Weapon attachments seem to affect gameplay too much. I’d prefer they be cosmetic rather than impact TTK (time to kill) or ADS (aim down sights) speed.
- I really liked the on-the-fly scope switching from BF2042. That felt modern and intuitive. In BF6, having to go back into menus breaks immersion.
- Overall weapon quality felt poor—visuals, sound design, and effectiveness. Most guns felt weak, with unrealistic recoil and low damage. The pistol especially felt unusable.
🧨 Combat Balance
- It often took nearly a full mag (or more) to down an enemy. That’s frustrating and doesn’t reward accuracy or tactical play.
- Recoil patterns felt unnatural—again, more like COD than Battlefield.
- I recently tried Delta Force on console, and the pistol mechanics there felt much more responsive and satisfying.
🎯 Game Modes & Team Composition
- For objective-based modes, consider limiting the number of snipers per team. It would encourage more frontline engagement and reduce passive playstyles that stall gameplay.
✅ Final Thoughts
I want BF6 to succeed. Battlefield has always been about scale, strategy, and immersion. Please lean into that legacy and avoid chasing trends that dilute the experience. I’m rooting for you—just hoping the final product feels more like Battlefield and less like a hybrid.
Thanks for listening.
