Bought on Steam, playing on EA Plays. Where do I unlock the items?

I bought the Phantom version on Steam, and I have the creeping suspision that I won't get my unlocks on my Steam account, since, technically, I am not playing there. I haven't gotten any key, and my Steam simply says "Releases in October". So I figured, I have to play on EA Plays. Since, that's how it's always been. The Steam page even takes me to EA Plays. So what now? Will they simply unlock, once I logged into my EA account when playing on Steam? I already put over 20 hours in, and it would suck, if I have to do it all over again next weekend.
