Gamepass is required for all online games on Xbox. And PS has the same equivalent. Nothing too do with the game… :)
Zeke is correct you need PS+ or Gamepass to play any online game on console. The games matching and comms are rooted through the consoles services. Ergo you pay to play online.
Not true bro, I regularly play Warzone, Marvel Rivals and Overwatch all free to play and without game pass
