On the subject of toxicity
I'm a new Battlefield player (1 year experience) and I find the concept of Battlefield very fun—running around from point to point finding ways to speed up your own victory while cutting down the enemy. With all that going for it, you'd think it would make a great team game where everyone works together and forges a better experience.
However, with the re-introduction of open chats in BF6 (thank god, what happened BF2042?) there is also a rise in disunification between teammates. People who aren't even Battlefield veterans will get angry because someone in their team doesn't live up to their expectations despite this game being in its most unrefined state. K/D ratio to low? Get flamed. Bad driver but you just wanna learn? Get flamed. Want to play your favorite class but your teammates won't stop picking Assault instead of Medics? Get flamed. I'm aware there's a system to block/mute people, and I intend to use that. However, it doesn't feel like enough. Are there ways to separate myself from hardcore sweats in general who do nothing but punch down? Perhaps a detection system that allows sensitive players (I know that sounds demeaning but everyone has their soft spot) to tick a box that says they don't want to see chat messages from individuals with any track record of toxicity. Something to hold back the hate so the community doesn't have to deal with this kind of embarrassment.
