Other changes I’d like to see, rarely mentioned by others

Hi. Here’s a list of improvements I’d like to see in the final version of the game. I feel like hardly anyone has mentioned them.

Weapon presets – We should be able to save several presets for weapons. For example, 2 or 3 versions of the same rifle. Let’s say we like playing with the M4. As one preset, we could have a “standard” version saved, and under another preset a stealth version with a suppressor. Very often, one attachment determines the choice of others, and constantly changing all of them back and forth is tedious. Presets solve this problem and let us quickly switch weapon configurations to whatever we want.

Server browser filters and functionality – The current browser in BF2042 isn’t very functional. You can sort by player count or ping, but I’d also like to be able to filter servers. Let us easily filter out servers that have closed or open weapon settings. Let us set a maximum ping. Let us hide servers with certain keywords like “XP,” “farm,” etc. Additionally, right now in BF2042, if we want to see which maps are on a server and what their rotation looks like, we have to click 3 or 4 times… This should be visible right away when I click on the server.

Minimap zoom – Give us the option to enlarge the minimap. I really don’t need to open the full-screen map.

Respawn screen – We should have a list of squadmates that we can click on to spawn on them. Often, when someone is on an objective, instead of spawning on them, we just spawn on the point. You know what I mean. Also, this list should show which classes they are playing.

Test range like in BF4 – I know, we can launch a Portal map and practice flying. But that shooting range had many other features too. We could easily test how much damage certain rockets do to vehicles, how fast we can destroy a tank with a given weapon, etc.

Adaptive camos – Please… bring back adaptive camos for vehicles and weapons. It would also be great to have such an option for skins as well. That way we could either use adaptive camo or select a specific camouflage for each map.

Red dot reticle customization – I’ve seen a lot of posts here about this. It’s a much-needed option, especially for people with color vision problems. But even players without vision issues sometimes had trouble seeing the dot, which simply blended in with shadows or enemies.

Spot icon – Considering how hard it is in this game to distinguish between an engineer and a sniper, after spotting an enemy, there should be an icon showing the enemy’s class.

Transparent health crate zone – Let us disable or adjust the transparency of that huge circle around medkits.

Match start – For heaven’s sake, why am I automatically spawned at the start of the map? What if I want to change something? Adjust my weapon, for example? In previous Battlefield titles, we could freely change our loadouts or gadgets and then spawn on a point captured by our teammates. Here? We’re auto-spawned at base and then have to run 500 meters.

Gadget sounds – Overall… this game has audio problems. Footstep sounds have already been mentioned many times, but I’d like to add the sound of certain gadgets. Several times I ran right past a spawn beacon without hearing it at all.

Ammo from support – Instead of manually “taking” a medkit from a medic, we should be able to take ammo. Health regenerates on its own, and pretty quickly. Ammo is what really matters.

Search bar for settings – I probably don’t need to explain this one. Let us search in the options menu. Right now there are tons of settings, and some of them are buried deep in submenus.

Spotted info – This one’s up for debate. Hard to say after just the beta, but maybe we should get a notification when we are spotted?

Gadget resupply progress – At the moment, when we want to resupply something like rockets, there’s a problem. We sit by an ammo crate and wait for them to regenerate. Right before they finish, the crate disappears. All our progress resets. We have to find a new crate and wait all over again, praying that the support player doesn’t throw down another crate somewhere else, which would make ours vanish.
