The game is trying to win over Call of Duty YouTubers for initial sales by making the game like Call of Duty. The problem is they have no reason to play this long-term because Call of Duty already excels at Call of Duty, so why play Battlefield?
They should have just made Battlefield 4 again; that is the recipe for long-term success, as then you have a real FPS alternative to COD. I'd be playing that if it wasn't dead in the Oceania region. The players having a fanfare over this are not going to last long term. They will all shift back to Call of Duty, just like all the other Battlefield players post BF4 have done.
The key issues are:
- Tanks need to feel like tanks again, with both sheer killing power and a bulky feel.
- Snipers should play like snipers, not close-quarter quick-scopers.
- Camping was a legitimate playstyle in BF4, as you could use different routes to get around a sniper.
- The little bird with a dedicated crew was great because it could control the map. Now, it seems like a stinger can take a helicopter out at any height, so they're just used for transport or suicide runs.
With BFV, they didn't listen to long-term fans of Battlefield, and they appeased politics, so it died. With BF6, they haven't listened to long-term fans of Battlefield, and they appeased CodTubers, so it will die.
