EA Anticheat TeamYou DEVS need to take this way more seriously. Cheating has been ruining online gaming more and more every year. Look at the TARKOV documentary a couple years back.
If it was me I'd make a server side only game rather than this "arms race" BS devs always talk about, and always lose.
Utilise cloud gaming tech like Microsoft uses or Google was playing around with, or Amazon uses, NVIDIA, etc.
Make it server side / cloud based only and get rid of cheating instantly.
I'd rather play on a level playing field with 40ms of latency on the cloud than play with another cheater infested game.
This is just your opinion, which you're entitled to have, but I believe you'll be in the minority. FPS games live and die by how good their gunplay is, and latency is a big factor in this. While you might be okay with 40ms latency on average or minimum (I'm just paraphrasing you, I don't know how much latency is common in cloud gaming), I would not be okay with that, and I suspect neither would most hardcore FPS gamers. If it were a magic bullet, it would already be commonplace. It isn't common, so it's obviously not a magic bullet.
People are already playing with latency in their games. I mean, obviously you have your ping shown right on the screen in most shooters and depending on where you're connected, your latency might be much more than that or it can be slightly better.
That number is just what I've sort of gotten used to playing with different cloud-based servers and games like Xbox cloud gaming or Google stadia when it was still a thing etc etc.
Obviously I can't say whether or not I would be in the minority, but I've had at least some people on this thread back me up that they would prefer an experience like that. I'm quite confident that the demand would be extremely high for something like that actually.
I'm 42. I've been gaming since gaming existed. My dad worked for IBM and I had computers in our house when I was 4 years old where I learned to use dos commands to load up games like snake.
I'm telling you right now I would rather play on a cloud-based game where everybody was on a level playing Field and dealing with the same amount of latency if it meant that everybody was playing fairly and there were no cheaters. All day long. All day long. I would pay a subscription. And a lot of people would join me.
The real reason that it hasn't happened is because it would take quite a bit more effort and more importantly a hell of a lot of money and resources and infrastructure.
The good news is that cloud gaming exists and a lot of big multi-billion or multi trillion dollar companies. If we're talking about Nvidia have it there at their disposal and are making it better everyday.
So I am hopeful that one of these giant corporations will see posts like this and at least some interest. And I'm telling you that the interest is a lot higher than you think and simply take the risk.
I am highly confident they would be almost instantly the number one shooter or any game genre that they decide to make with tech like that.
If you have an Xbox or game pass subscription on the PC boot up a cloud-based game and play around. It's surprisingly good. And they're working on making it better all the time.
I'm simply saying that to me it seems like existing tech that could be utilized and solve a lot of the problems with online gaming today regarding cheating.

I'm a BF2 era, and times were good. I picked up again at BFV and had to drop it like a hot potato once the cheating became rife, I'd tried BC2, BF3 & BF4 on kids machines, wasn’t my thing. Then the move into BF2042 fantasy realm and further cheating play started to make me think this franchise is cooked. After trying BF6 Beta, boy oh boy, I must have had my big 20meter toe sticking out from behind every wall, 1 shot hits. die spawn die spawn, this just isn’t a tactical team playing war game to me, sorry but cheating and a fantasy driven battle has me tapping out. Take a page out of Hell Let Loose and us oldies who are realists, may just stick around with all our money.

Well Cloud Server are not very good for gaming. A very good example is MS Halo Infinite. I was a cheater fest.
Who do you think sells the source code to the hacking companies? The devs don’t care about the cheating when they can make thousands selling the source code to the cheat providers
I just signed into this forum just to bash this as the most stupid take I've ever seen.
Not only would this massively increase latency (as you said), but would massively increase the cost to maintain the game, likely leading to EA pulling the plug earlier, not to mention this gives them the ability to very easily take away our access to the game whenever they feel like dumping it -- do you really think using this approach that this game will last longer than e.g. BF3 has?
This still wouldn't stop some external cheats either, like ones that rely on capturing your screen to detect players and that simply manipulate your mouse inputs.
A decade down the road, I might want to come back and play the BF6 campaign again, just to realize that EA has shutdown their stupid live-streaming service.
Personally, I'd rather deal with a super invasive KM anti-cheat like Vanguard than have my game infested with cheaters.

This is spot on.. Still have to worry about modded controllers and stuff like that. I do really think cheaters have destroyed gaming until they can stop it. I quit playing multiplayer fps games and that was favorite. Sucks that these people are making money off destroying gaming communities. Consoles are probably less secure too. They are full of modded controllers and some people even use virtual machines to play ps5 on and I guess there is a way to cheat like that.
As we speak there are a large number of cheaters playing bf 5 and other titles of course. Xbox ,pc.
Why arent they banned? There are very easy to see and catch. Just goto any tdm match. That will allow you to catch them faster. Almost every clan left is cheating as well. Every member. This is how said its got . They do not even attempt to play the game properly. These same people are spreading,selling and use these cheats. Why not ban them now. It sends a message and it helps protect your game. Thet are so simple and and easy to spot. But yet they have been cheaing for years. This loses you sells of new game titles. And also loses players. Players will come back once they hear you are getting tough. Youd be suprised. Their is a massive player base that has quit do to all the cronus, and modded controllers being allowed and cheats. With some human eyes and hands watching this. There is a clear way to monitor and track many of these cheaters. We have fiqured it out through pattern recognition and their behaviors. Liers and cheaters which are crooks mess up and can be tracked using their own methods against them. Ive found the key. But it takes real time work and you cant leave everything up to a anticheat or a ai.
I am a new player to bf5 and 2042 but here games are rife with them .
impossible spins and one shots while they are being riddled with your own shots .
Or you sight them up and die just not sure how they could know your even there .

lm new but getting fed up so probably going to pack it up as it’s just another game ruined by cheats , they were even in bf6 new release .
bf5 is virtually unplayable if there are any clean servers out there very hard to find .
